It doesn't have the feel of a premium product but given its price (£39.99) It's not that surprising. It powers up fine and I was able to navigate the menus by pressing the power button to access the main menu , then navigating using the arrows and power button again to select. The display is clear , but not very big. It can display Electric field , Radiated power and Magnetic field all at the same time. If you are someone who needs accurate readings for engineering purposes then you'll probably want a more expensive one that comes with a calibration certificate. If you're a casual user then this could be a good starting product.

    This is a surprisingly compact instrument, and is easy to slip into a pocket to carry with you.

    I'm not going to comment on the "ghost hunting" malarkey, but I will say it seems to effectively pick up EM radiation, judging by my experiments with using it. I can't tell you if the readings are accurate or not because I don't have access to calibrated testing equipment. I can however confirm that the level of reading increases, the closer I bring this device to known sources of EM radiation. The readings this gives fluctuate all the time, and it's really a comparative reading you're considering as a result. I find that the graphic display is the best way to view readings.

    The danger with devices like this is to use it whilst not understanding the meaning or implications of what it's telling you. An acquaintance of mine has a similar device, and worries themselves sick, believing that because none of the readings are zero, he's in danger of death from radiation, and it's all a plot, etc etc. EM radiation is all around us, and is a natural phenomena as well as being generated by technology. You cannot escape it. Also, placing this device next to a 13 amp mains socket triggers the alarms. Does this mean that all your wall sockets are hazardous? No, it doesn't.

    It's best to think of this device as a way of establishing areas where EM radiation is higher, and where it's lower. What you then do with that information is another question. It's also possible to use this meter as a method for locating buried or hidden electronics and wiring. That's the biggest benefit of the device, in my opinion.
